Grand Island Dive Rescue Team is a progressive group of professionally trained and certified dive rescue specialists, providing water safety education and rescue and recovery of people and property involved in water related accidents in Grand Island, Hall County, and Central Nebraska.
Members of the GIDRT work closely with area Law Enforcement, Fire and Rescue crews, communities, agencies and individuals providing highly specialized services. These service are performed in a wide variety of environments and often under dangerous conditions. Some areas of involvment include:
- Still water diving.
- Limited visibility diving
- Ice diving
- Evidence recovery, underwater crime scenes
All of these areas require specialized training, which is provided by the Dive Rescue Team during regular training exercises performed in a variety of settings. Each team member must obtain and maintain certifications including Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, and Rescue Diver performed by a recognized certifying agency at the diverís expense.

The Grand Island Dive Rescue Team is a non profit organization dedicated to water safety and is comprised of a group of dedicated volunteers from the community and surrounding area.
